Qatar suggests unified employment contract for domestic workers

Qatar has suggested that the GCC nations adopt a unified format of employment contract for domestic workers.


The proposal is among the six major recommendations made by Qatar during a meeting in Manama, wherein another suggestion has been made wherein all GCC states explore other markets to bring in maids, so that the soaring recruitment charges can be reduced.


A meeting will be held between the GCC states and major manpower exporting nations to discuss various issues that focus on ensuring the rights of workers and their employers.
