New 12-screen multiplex to come up in the first Green Mall in Qatar

The Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company (QCFDC) has signed deal with Pin Point Holdings in Doha, to operate the 12-screen multiplex at Tawar Mall in Duhail area, the Gulf Times reported.

The Tawar Mall, spanning across 242,000 square meters along Markhiya Street, is likely to be ready during last quarter of 2014. This new venture will feature nine state-of-the-art movie halls, two VIP theatres, and a hall exclusively for screening 4D children cinema.

On completion, the Tawar Mall will be the first "Green Mall" in the country, adhering to international eco-friendly standards. The mall has been developed by Kitco Consultants, which has already developed several green residential projects in Qatar.

However, the Tawar Mall is the first commercial green venture by the group. According to Felicito Ginete, the Design Director of Pin Point Holdings, Duhail and its immediate neighbourhood already has six malls, although this one will be entirely different.

According to QCFDC Managing Director, the tie-up with Pin Point Holdings will help in boosting their business, as Qatar is in need of more cinema screens in view of its growing population. The Cinema screens at Tawar Mall will be on the second floor of G+3 complex, with 72,484 sqm of rental space and 2,620 car bays.
