Lagoona Mall opened to public

A luxury shopping centre, Lagoona Mall, has been unveiled at Dohas West Bay district last week.

The mall spanning 128,000 square meters is almost 70percent occupied, with all of the store space expected to be allocated towards the end of the year.

The mall, on completion, will comprise 160 retail units, 22 restaurants and a European-style piazza.

The General Manager for Lagoona, Eamon Kelly, mentioned that there is increasing demand for luxury products such as Rolexes in Qatar, with people travelling afield to catch exciting offers.

Located at a distance of less than a kilometre from the Pearl Qatar development, the mall is in a prime location so as to attract the high-end shoppers.

Developed by Darwish Holding, the mall has opened two years later than was originally planned. The Engineering Consultancy for the project was carried on by MZ and Partners, with Callison-RYA doing the interior concept from Dallas, USA.

The shopping mall hopes to draw high-end Qatari and expatriate shoppers from the Lagoona and Pearl areas, both affluent areas. The Lagoona area will soon be home to 30,000 nationals.
