GCC nations to soon implement unified traffic monitoring system

The general traffic administration is currently co-ordinating with a team for unified traffic monitoring system in GCC nations, its Director revealed.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman Al-Mugbil said that the new system permits exchange of information and data electronically between GCC nations on traffic violations, and data related to vehicles, discharge, export certificates, and will connect all services of traffic administrations.

He confirmed to local media that the department is in the process of implementing a two-part strategy. The first part involves dealing with the violator in a strict but polite manner, while the other part is about providing services to nationals.

The new system will permit nationals to access all services electronically through the Interior Ministry’s portal for all administrative procedures. It will permit nationals to take advantage of accessing the service smoothly during a short span of time.

This is an extension of strategy, which focuses on fieldwork and tasks, by transferring some members from their administrative duties to the field to improve and develop traffic work, he said.
