New Passports and Immigration Office to come up in Lusail

The Passports and Immigration Office is all set to have a new building in Lusail District. Plans have been finalized, and consultants have been appointed to monitor the construction, says Brig. Abdul Aziz al-Ansari, Director of Logistics and Supplies in the Interior Ministry.

The new office will be built on an area of 92,000 square metres, he said.

Also, preparations are on for opening a new building for Traffic Department in Khalifa Town in April.

The Interior Ministry will also move to new premises in Wadi al-Sail. The building, worth about QR1.6bn, is likely to be ready by the end of next year, he said.

He further said that a state-of-the-art press to print high security materials was being planned, and it will be the first of its kind in the Middle East.

An exclusive hospital for Ministry’s employees is also on the cards, and it will spread over 192,000 sqm in Lusail District, and the total cost of these projects will be worth QR3.3bn.
