Msheireb Downtown Doha grows to be lead retail and entertainment hub

The flagship project of Msheireb Properties, namely Msheireb Downtown Doha, will feature extensive retail outlets including a mall, aimed at transforming the area into an unparalleled leisure, retail and entertainment hub.

The Galleria, which forms a major part of retail offering at Msheireb Downtown Doha, spanning about 48,000 sqm of gross leasable space, is an air-conditioned shopping mall comprising nearly 100 stores spread across four levels of shopping and entertainment space, the Galleria.

The Galleria will feature an anchor supermarket on the lower ground floor, multi and six screen cinema, a dedicated entertainment zone for children of all ages, involving both educational and physical activities, wherein children will be entertained in a safe and friendly environment.

Apart from the Galleria, the Mshereib Downtown Doha includes variety of other retail offerings, which not only attract tourists and visitors, but also would be well-equipped to serve the thriving community, likely to establish themselves in the Downtown.

The development’s largest pedestrian street named ‘Sikkat Al Wadi’, which runs the entire length of Downtown Doha, will also offer a range of shopping options, including flagship stores, apart from fashion boutiques, restaurants and cafes.

The uniqueness of the project’s retail offering, apart from traditional malls is that it would integrate the well-known international brands with smaller local brands or boutiques, which would provide an authentic town centre atmosphere, while also retaining the uniqueness of Qatari characteristics, traditions and heritage.

This way, the development offers a more personal and appealing shopping experience, than any other massive shopping malls across the Gulf, pointed out Eng. Abdulla Hassan Al-Mehshadi, Chief Executive Officer, Msheireb Properties.

The blend of casual and high street shopping, community spaces and stylish plazas is unique to Msheireb development. The development also hosts ‘Al Baraha’, the largest shaded open-air square in the region, which is a family destination with cafes and restaurants featuring large scale shows, and special cooling devices known as ‘cool pools’ to refresh visitors during summer.

The pedestrian-friendly access from main streets of the city and an underpass connection to Souk Waqif will further improve the shopping aspects here. The well-planned infrastructure and transport system of the project, would further complement the exceptional retail offerings of the Downtown.

Msheireb, which already houses the Qatar’s largest metro station, has an integrated road network that links downtown to the rest of the city.
