Qatar International Food Festival 2017 unveiled

The 8th Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) has been unveiled today at the Hotel Park, overlooking Doha Corniche. This year's festival is bigger, with hundreds of food enthusiasts expected to attend the venue to sample mouth-watering cuisines offered by the best restaurants in the country.

The theme for this year, “A Different Side of Food”, will include flavours from various countries available at their stalls at the Cultural Zone. The event will be accompanied by various live entertainment shows.

The 8th Qatar International Food Festival is much bigger this year with the theme "A Different Side of Food". Hundreds of food enthusiasts are expected to throng the venue to sample mouth-watering cuisines offered by some of the best restaurants and cafes in the country.  

Divided into zones, a total of 130 restaurants, hotels and food carts are expected to participate this year. The main zones will include live cooking theatre, while the health zone will bring in food-related awareness, and will offer four-star and five-star culinary experiences.

Food trolleys and trucks that gained popularity in the Shop Qatar festival will also participate in the event.

The festival offers food in the range QR5 to QR35, apart from Dinner in the Sky, priced at QR500. The festival will remain open from 2pm to 10pm on weekdays and till 11pm on weekend.

There will be a daily fireworks display at 8pm and outdoor screenings of food-related movies from 9pm. Live cooking, Dinner in the Sky, garden picnic, high tea and fine dining pavilion are special festive experiences this year.

Apart from Children’s Food Zone, there will also be edutainment in the form of daily screenings of Siraj, Qatar Foundation’s 3D animation children’s TV series. Moreover, book lovers get to explore cook books and other food-related literature at the QIFF Library.

The Chef’s Table at the event will offer diners the opportunity to join international chefs for an interactive cooking and dining experience at the participating five-star hotels. The charges would be in the range QR280 to QR1500. The table can be booked online through QIFF website.

Some of the leading Chefs participating in QIFF 2017 are Chef Andrew Bozoki, Chef JULIEN AL KHAL, Chef SANJEEV KAPOOR, Chef XUDONG ZHENG, Chef MANAL ALALEM, Chef ALI ZAFAR, Chef ERHAN AFCAN, Chef FAWAZ ALOMAIM.

The Hotel Park offers four levels of underground parking with more than 2500 spots.
