Hotel reservations not mandatory for visa-on-arrival

Hotel reservations or other conditions are not mandatory for obtaining various types of on-arrival tourist visas in Qatar, said the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

But, visitors may be asked to provide the address of their place of stay in Qatar, the MoI pointed out. The general conditions for obtaining on-arrival tourist visas are passport validity of six months and a confirm return or onward ticket.

Recently, Qatar had introduced various types of visas, including on-arrival visas, e-visas and e-authorisation. The 90-day on-arrival tourist visa applicable for nationals of 34 countries has a validity of 180 days with a multi-entry option and this cannot be extended. On the other hand, the 30-day visa applicable for nationals of 47 countries, can be extended online through MoI website, upto another 30 days, the ministry said.
