The Minister of Economy and Commerce, H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani yesterday unveiled Hospitality Qatar 2017, in the presence of hundreds thronging stalls of 153 exhibitors from 15 countries at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister emphasized that the tourism sector is the vital pillar that supports economic diversification strategy, aimed at achieving its national vision 2030.

The country has moved towards raising the contribution of this sector to gross domestic product, particularly in light of the huge investment opportunities available here, which will help strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy, and its attractiveness to foreign investment, he pointed out.

There is huge growth in the tourism and hospitality sector, accompanied by inauguration and implementation of various projects, particularly across hotels and tourist facilities. Appreciating the efforts made to organize this year’s Hospitality Qatar edition, the minister mentioned that this reflects Qatar’s role as key player in the hospitality and investment market in the region.

The exhibition is expected to contribute towards improving communication among businessmen, investors and owners of specialized companies to establish successful projects that strengthens Qatar’s reputability as a lead tourist destination in the region and in the world.
