Qatar flags off second edition of International Kite Festival

The second edition of Aspire International Kite Festival will begin on 6th March and continue until 9th March, following its enormous success last year.

The annual event will involve participation of 23 international teams in addition to Qatar. The participating countries include Canada, Australia, Austria, Germany, France, China, Italy, Indonesia, Hungary, Singapore, Spain, Philippines, Pakistan, Netherlands, New Zealnd, Mexico, Japan, USA, UK, Thailand, Switzerland and Sweden.

From its inception to design and delivery, the event has continued to be the highest by international standards. This yearís second Aspire International Kite Festival provides another evidence of Aspire Zone Foundationís ability to execute the best sport and entertainment events for its local community in Qatar.

The festival will be split into morning and evening sessions. The morning sessions will run from 9am to 12pm. This will include various workshops for students who are participating in local kite flying competition, and will be organised alongside the main international event, on a smaller scale for local school teams.

The afternoon sessions will run from 3pm to 11pm, and comprise various entertainment activities, with more than 28 Food and Beverage outlets being set up alongside the main international kite flying competition.
