First phase of Sumaisma Beach opens for families

The first phase of Sumaisma Beach has been unveiled by the Private Engineering Office for families in Qatar early this week. Located between Doha and the northern regions, the beach is very clean, and the first phase includes building of washrooms and shower room and several canopies over a large area so that families get to sit and enjoy in the shade. A part of the beach has been marked specifically for women.

The official incharge of the beach, Jassim Al-Kaabi said that the private engineering office has implemented a project for allocation of the beach to the families aimed at rehabilitating the beaches in the country.

A special allocation on the beach has been made for women, so that they can enjoy with comfort. The beach extends for 7km with a separate gate for women, and is constantly monitored against entry of men.

The second phase of Sumaisma Beach will open soon and would include restaurants and cafeterias to cater to visitors. A school to teach horseback riding makes the place more diverse. Further, there are plans to develop other recreational services for the public, in line with plans to improve tourist facilities, the official pointed out.
