New Doha Gold Souq to open shortly

A new promising destination for gold buyers, a Gold Souq, is in the final stages of construction in the heart of Doha and will open shortly for the public.

Being a cluster of more than 50 shops, this well-designed complex with its golden hue, will be a landmark destination when opened.

Although Doha already had a Gold Souq at Al Ghanim, it has been pushed to the background with several new infrastructure projects. When all the shops in Souq Najada opens, it would be one of the most crowded areas in Doha.

The business of gold jewellery has grown manifold over the past years, with several Asian expats having fuelled the demand for gold, making the jewellery business in Doha stronger.

Several shops under a single roof will create a healthy competition that would ultimately benefit the customers.

The Sales and Marketing Manager of an India-based jewellery group who spoke to the media mentioned that as part of ongoing expansion plans in the Gulf region, they are looking for an ideal location.

“With good attractive jewellery collections in hand, we plan to open a special section for jewellery manufactured in Doha, aiming to increase local production by deploying skilled designers”, he added.
