Qatar Airways launches flights to New York
Qatar Airways start flights to New York first time, it marked the first step into the US market. Five Star hospitality all the way to New York with four flights a week and, from July 19th we will enter the Washington DC market with our renowned service, non-stop daily from Doha.
Qatar hopes to bring 1.5 million tourists by the next decade. With this new service, the Qatar Airways network of international destinations touches seventy seven in number.
Mr. Baker mentioned that Americans are still not familiar with Qatar, but hoped that new destinations and an increasing fleet will help distinguish the region for both leisure and business travelers.
The five-star carrier has been appreciated for its first class business amenities, comprising flat beds and live television (the only airline outside the US with this feature). The airline holds a prolific first-and–business-class terminal at Doha International Airport, comprising a Spa with Jacuzzis and saunas, a nursery, bedrooms for travelers with long layovers and a restaurant offering complimentary food.
The Airline, which was launched during 1994, recently ordered eighty A350 aircrafts worth $16 billion and 22 Boeing 777s with deliveries of the later beginning in November. Qatar projects to have a total of 115 aircrafts in the fleet by 2015.
Qatar Airways has also announced that by joining hands with United Airlines, it has filed a joint application with the US Department of Transportation to place their codes on each other's flight, which helps expand its presence in US.
