Implementation of Qatar Entertainment City at Lusail, underway
The Qatar Entertainment City together with Majid Al Futtaim Group, announced their deal to begin implementation of the main area of Qatar.
The Partnership was announced in Doha last week, during the signing ceremony between the two companie, to build about 50 percent of Qatar Entertainment City, which is a mixed-use development to come up in Lusail, Qatar.
The water-front development comprises three components - retail, residential and entertainment, which in-turn, will be divided into five districts – downtown (urban environment), the boardwalk (waterfront), the villas (exclusive residential villas), the North Shore (apartments and hotels with waterfront view) and the South shore (hotels, villas and retail with waterfront view).
The partnership highlights a phased approach. The agreement will be implemented over two phases in separate precincts. The ‘downtown’ area will be done in two phases, which involves development and operation of the retail and entertainment elements, apart from developing and selling of the residential and retail components in the areas to the north and south of the main canal of the development.
The plots in the downtown are built in two precincts from the town center of both the Qatar Entertainment City and Lusail. The area, on completion will be a destination hub for retail, entertainment and hospitality in the entire region. The area will be made accessible to the coast via water taxis, and will house performance auditoriums, cinemas, public family entertainment attractions and spaces.
The Precinct A has been marked for development during the first phase of the agreement, which spreads across 140,000 square meters of land, with one million square feet of major retail space, in the form of a massive regional shopping mall. The precinct will also house two hotels, entertainment concept and commercial office space within 50,000 square meters of land space.
The Precinct B will be earmarked for exclusive residential units and boutique hotels, which would serve as a premium fashion brand, including international luxury brands and restaurants.
The two precincts will be completed with four years.
