Housing loans for Qatari government employees increased
The State of Qatar has announced an increase in the upper limit of housing loans to QR8000,000 for Qatari government employees.
With this decision, the housing loan amount will be uniform for all categories of state employees. These loans will be utilized to purchase land plots for construction of houses.
The Emir has approved a Cabinet decision of fixing the loan amount to QR800,000.
The Decision Number 14 of 2008 will however, only get effective, after being published in the official gazette, reported Qatar News Agency.
The size of the plot to be purchased in Doha, should however, be a minimum of 625 square meters, and outside the capital city, the minimum size has been fixed at 1000 square meters.
In case the plot areas are lesser than the specified limits, rates per square meter will be made applicable. The limit for Doha is QR1280 per square meters, while on the city outskirts it is QR800 per square meter.
The area of the plot should have prior approval of Urban Planning and Development Authority.
The Qatar Development Bank will help with the loans.
