Qatar Airways announces daily non-stop service to Kozhikode in Kerala
Qatar Airways has launched daily non-stop service from Doha to Kozhikode in Kerala, which marks its ninth destination in India and third in Kerala.
Kozhikode and Doha will be connected through an Airbus A320 aircraft. The national carrier of Qatar, already flies to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
Other Indian destinations served by Qatar Airways are Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Ahmedabad. With a total of 51 flights per week across eight destinations, Qatar Airways covers a vast network service throughout India.
Formerly known as Calicut, Kozhikode is the third largest city in Kerala, with a population of nearly 500,000 and is home to historic sites, serene beaches, lush vistas and Ayurvedic health treatment.
The Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar al-Baker said “In 2007, Qatar Airways launched three new routes to India. Now with the addition of Kozhikode, our position in this highly important market will be strengthened further, as there is a large concentration of expatriates from Kerala in the Gulf. Qatar Airways looks forward to welcoming passengers on our new services to make it a highly successful launch into our third gateway in Kerala.
