Eligibility criteria for applicants of Barwa low rent housing revealed
According to Barwa low-rent housing scheme, the applicants who are in receipt of the court order enforcing evacuation of their houses, or the applicants residing with their families in shared or bad accommodations, will be given preference for allotment of flats.
Numerous tenants have filed lawsuits against their landlords during the recent past, as the landlords have been compelling the tenants to move out either for want of the property for their personal use or for demolition.
The applicants for Barwa’s tenant-friendly housing scheme have already received calls from the company to appear for interviews. The interviews will be held for the next two months.
Another factor that will be taken into consideration for allotment of flats will be the financial position of the applicant and his family. The interviews being conducted will ensure that the information provided by the applicant is accurate.
Applicants have been asked to bring along their bank statement for the past six months, a copy of salary certificate issued by their employers and the original passports of themselves and their family members for the interview. The applicant and his residents will also need to hold a valid Residence Permit to be eligible for allotment.
Barwa is currently building about 2000 low-rent two and three bedroom apartments on the outskirts of Doha, so as to be able to provide affordable housing to limited-income residents and nationals, in a view to ease the worsening housing shortage.
Due to the delay in completing infrastructure works, the project is expected to face a slight delay, but the Barwa Real Estate Company hopes to handover the apartment keys to successful applicants in July or August this year.
