New Biometric Data Collection Center unveiled at Doha City Center
The permanent biometric data collection center of the Ministry of Interior was recently unveiled at the Doha City Center, for issuing Smart ID Cards to nationals.
The Director of Nationality and Travel documents department, Col. Abdullah Saad Al Buainain, said -This initiative is as per the strategy of Ministry of Interior (MoI) for expansion of its services and for delivering it at the nearest place of applicants, for better accessibility of MoIs services without approaching the department headquarters.
The new Biometric Data Collection Center is located at the second floor and will remain open between 3.00pm and 8.00pm. The department also plans to open biometric data collection centers at Villagio, Landmark and other malls.
Speaking about the Passport and ID Cards issuance and renewal, Col. Al Buainain, said “During summer vacation, the department will receive several hundreds of applications. Completion of these procedures is time-consuming, and will intensify our efforts, by working on two shifts. It is therefore, the duty of the citizens to confirm the validity of their Passports and ID Cards.”
