IHG signs deal to develop Crown Plaza hotel in Doha
The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has entered into an agreement with Trans Orient Group, to develop Crowne Plaza in Qatar, adjacent to Doha Airport.
The agreement for Crowne Plaza Doha Airport was signed between major leaders of both groups – Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, owner of Trans Orient Group and John Bamsey, COO of IHG.
Speaking during the signing, John Bamsey expressed his excitement over the partnership with Trans Orient Group and said “Doha is a strategic location and it is a good opportunity for Crowne Plaza, which offers travelers high comfort, and excellent service and amenities, amidst a relaxing environment.”
Centrally located within Doha’s newest business park, which is now under development, it is just two kilometers away from Doha International Airport. The hotel has been designed focusing on high-standards of personal service, and business amenities. The hotel is expected to be the perfect base for a business traveler, with easy access to major conference center and office towers at the business park.
The travelers get the kind of accommodation that suits their duration of stay, as they are offered with a choice of 265 hotel rooms and 83 serviced apartments. Three specialty restaurants are ideal for entertaining clients and relaxing after a hectic day. Fully-equipped business center with state-of-the-art facilities ensure that Crowne Plaza Doha Airport turns out to be the focal point for local business companies and guests.
IHG is currently operating ‘InterContinental Doha’, while another hotel ‘InterContinental Doha West Bay’ is in pipeline. At present there are 13 Crowne Plaza Hotels and 3538 rooms across Africa and Middle East, and another six properties and 2216 rooms are in pipeline.
