Suspension of budget airline leaves several travelers disappointed
It was a big disappointment for several hundreds of Nepalese travelers who booked tickets with the budget carrier, as the airline has arrived at a decision to suspend its operations beginning 11th July.
A joint venture between Air Arabia and Yeti (domestic airline of Nepal), Flyyeti.com, has been operational five days a week connecting Doha and Kathmandu since 2nd April.
The airline’s website has reported that its management has decided to suspend operations of the carrier in wake of the current political situation in Nepal, which could possibly have a negative impact on the ability of the airline to continue with its current leasing agreement.
This uncertainty, coupled with the difficult operating conditions in Nepal and the current opaque regulatory environment, have led the management to arrive at such a decision, in the best interest of the company and its passengers.
Launched on 20th January, Flyyeti.com had enjoyed a pleasant performance and good passenger traffic of 80 percent ever since its introduction.
The Company has announced that it will continue to closely monitor the political and market conditions in Nepal, and will resume operations once the conditions become stable.
The airline assured that the passengers who have make bookings with Flyyeti.com will receive complete refund of their payments. The company has already refunded the amounts of passengers who approached the office for refund.
The Manager said that even until two days ago, the tickets of Flyyeti.com had high demand and most poor sections among Nepalese had patronized the airline since its inception.
These travelers are now deprived of the services of a highly economical air-carrier, apart from having to shell extra money to travel home.
