New upscale, family-oriented shopping mall to be unveiled in Muaither
A new upscale shopping center which will be open to families all through the year will come up in Muaither.
The shopping mall, namely the Wathnan Mall will be unveiled to public in February 2009, promising to introduce international shopping experience to people living in and around the area.
The project draws inspiration from Qatar’s heritage. Wathnan was the name of the best horse owned by the Third Ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.
Situated in close proximity to the Racing and Equestrian Club, the shopping mall would focus on offering the best amenities for children, among several other attractions.
A purpose-built play and 12 imported ponies from Australia would be used for children’s mounts inside the mall.
The Project Manager, Ibrahim Kreidei, has assured an “exclusive family experience” for visitors to the mall, and announced that no bachelors would be admitted into the mall all seven days of the week and through the year.
The luxury, family-oriented shopping complex, would spread across 41,000 square meters, out of which, 22,000 square meters would be allocated as office space. It will house about 100 shops, including one of the best hypermarkets in Doha.
The list of shops includes high-end international brands, exclusive boutiques and fashion labels, coffee shops, food courts, and department stores. Ample parking space for about 700 cars would be provided. Currently, 20 percent of the space is already rented out.
The promoters of the mall are now planning to improve the profile of Muaither with a top-notch shopping complex, Kreidie revealed.
