Qatar registers 300 percent increase in travelers to Europe
Europe registered 25million Middle East arrivals in 2007, a 14million increase from the numbers in 2001, which makes Middle East the second rapidly growing destination after Asia, in terms of arrivals to Europe.
Qatar, in particular, has registered a 300 percent increase in number of travelers to Europe, year after year, making it the fastest growing market in the Middle East.
Qatar is the third largest outbound market from the region, following UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Mark Allvey, the Global Sales Director, Rocco Forte Collection, the largest luxury hotel chain in Europe, when speaking to media persons, said that they are in talks with few developers and hospitality experts in the country, about the possibility of opening a branch in Qatar. The company revealed plans of establishing 8 hotels in the region.
