Next Asian Cup in Qatar

Qatar has been officially designated for the launch of next Asian Cup to be held in January 2011.

The country was the sole bidder after Australia was excluded from hosting the event, as the tournament was to be held away from East Asia.

Though, the weather during that part of the year when the event is to held would be rather pleasant without extremities of heat, the countries would undergo a collision course with European clubs.

However, the President of Asian Football Confedetaion, Mohammed Bin Hammam, assured that the players would be released off their duties by then.

The event is expected to be hosted in the Khalifa Stadium in Doha.
