Qatar plans amendment of rental law

The Advisory Council in Qatar is planning an amendment to rental regulation in Qatar, by empowering a landlord to evict a tenant, under certain conditions, the local dailies in Qatar indicate.

One such condition is that the landlord can ask the tenant to vacate the premises, if the premise is required for accommodation of the relatives of landlord.

The issue has been forwarded to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee and is taken up for discussion on the basis of request made by Rashed Hamad al-Medadi.
