Qatar to add 41 new hotels to its hospitality sector this year

The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) revealed that forty one new hotels are likely to open in Qatar this year.

The new properties will bring in 4689 new rooms to Qatar hospitality market, which has already recorded a 25 percent increase in the number of rooms last year.

However, the increase in hotels is hoped to be stronger this year, as several projects that were delayed due to lack of funds last year, are being completed.

The global economic recession has taken its toll on the global tourism sector. A thriving hotel industry is a major component for the tourism sector of a country, pointed out Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of QTA.
