Mowasalat to unveil Karwa Township next month
The Qatar transport company, Mowasalat, will unveil the much-awaited township for employees next month, it has been announced.
Built across an area of 500,000 Sq. mts, worth QR350mn, the Karwa township will offer accommodation for about 6000 employees with sufficient parking facility for the company’s fleet of 350 buses and 1500 taxis.
The accommodation offers a total of 10 blocks, with each comprising three storeys, each capable of accommodating 608 people. All the blocks are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including large spaces for sports activities.
A commercial complex and an administration block have also been built at the entrance of the township. The commercial complex includes an internet café, a pharmacy, a hair-cutting saloon, a supermarket, a laundry and booths for telephones and ATMs, and a recreation hall. There will also be three different cafeterias/restaurants, each of which can cater to 800 people simultaneously.
The restaurants will remain open for 24 hours a day, and will offer food at subsidised rates. The township also includes a large fuel station with a capacity to store 550,000 litres of petrol and diesel. There is also facility for vehicle washing with a capacity to wash 60 taxis and 30 buses in an hour.
