Qatar globally considered as unique travel destination

Event planners from around the world – South America, Europe and Asia, consider Qatar to be a new and unique destination which could be considered for their clients travels at the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) pavilion at the Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events (IMEX).

Moreover, the new Qatar Airways routes from Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Ares to be opened shortly to Doha also raised interest among the South American operators.


Gilberto Bocchino of European Travel, Brazil, commented that with the introduction of direct flight to Rio de Janerio by Qatar Airways in June, Qatar will be considered as top destination for the company’s clients, and it is hoped that several trips may have to be organized for Qatar.


Claudio Fernandez of Leisure Express in Argentina who participated in the presentation, said “I am very interested in Qatar, based on what I just saw. A short week in Qatar would be perfect as an incentive trip.”


There was also increased interest witnessed from around China, Asia, Malaysia and Korea. Orlanno Fan of Poloair Holidays Shanghai Ltd., who had visited Qatar earlier, said that there is much more to see in Qatar now, with more attractions and hotels. He agreed that he is planning incentive travel for groups, and is seeking new ideas.


Several European visitors, including German operators from the conference and incentive management sector also plan their annual holidays outside their home country, particularly to warmer destinations.


Several German visitors to Qatar expressed happiness about the 48 hours stopover campaign as a new option. The participant feedback was also positive.
