Infrastructure for Energy City Qatar to be completed this year

The infrastructure for Energy City Qatar, aimed at drawing international energy companies, will be completed this year, said the Chief Executive Officer of the project.

The first tenants of the city will occupy the units by end of 2011, while the whole project is hoped to be ready by 2012.


The group has entered into a deal with Qtel to build the data center, which could serve more than 90 buildings.


Energy City, developed by Qatari Diar, the property arm of Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the country. The project will house the headquarters for state-owned Qatar Petroleum and other national energy and petrochemical companies.
