DTF 2011 to be unveiled on 4th June at Doha Exhibition Centre

More than 550 exhibitors from 31 nations are participating in Doha Trade Fair 2011 (DTF 2011), titled Shop the World, which is likely to be the biggest fun shopping event to be ever organized in Doha.

The ten-day event will be held from 4th June to 13th June 2011 at the Doha Exhibition Centre, organized by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), together with events.

The organizers are expecting nearly 20,000 visitors a day, and are confident that the event will make a huge impact on the domestic tourism in Qatar, apart from drawing visitors from across the region.

Among the participating nations are Canada, Bangladesh, France, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, India, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Iran, Kenya, Kuwait, KSA, Morocco, Malaysia, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, Philippines, Thailand, Syria, Singapore, UAE, Turkey, Tunisia, Lebanon, Bangladesh and Yemen.

The Fair will be held in 15,000 square meters of land, with an additional 2000 square meters being dedicated outside exhibition hall as the ‘Fun Zone’, the family entertainment zone.

According to Dany Hachem, the Group Events Advisor at, every participating country this year, will be selling variety of latest exclusive and traditional products from their own country.

Therefore, the DTF Qatar will have something to offer for everyone. The ‘Fun Zone’ will be the venue for family activities, including fun games and daily parades.

He also said that the will try to beat the current world record for the largest board game, ‘Monopoly’ on 4th June, which will be displayed at the ‘Fun Zone’. The game board will open to public to play a series of Monopoly games from 5th June to 13th June, and teams will be chosen from Facebook fan base. The overall winner of the competition will bag the grand prize, a brand new car.

The event will be in for a grand opening on 4th June 2011 at 10am at the Doha Exhibitions Centre. The Doha Trade Fair 2011 will be open from 4th June to 13th June from 10am to 10pm daily (except on Fridays, as it will be open only from 2pm to 10pm). The entry is free.
