Qatar Canadian School (Blyth Academy Qatar)

Qatar Canadian School (QCS) is an active JK-12 international school that embraces diversity, celebrates differences in cultures and engages students in their learning. Currently, the school enjoys students from 42 nations enriching the experience for all students to function in a global society.

In 2016, the Ministry of Education has authorized the privatization of the Qatar Canadian School and the school was renamed and operated by Blyth Academy Qatar. Blyth Academy is Canada’s leading private school by enrollment with 15 schools in Canada and the United States and more than 6,000 students. Blyth Academy Online is one of Canada’s leading providers of online education with more than 100 accredited courses available for Grades 9 to 12. The Academy employs more than 800 certified teachers and holds accreditation from Ontario and Alberta in Canada as well as the Middle States Association in the US.

Graduates of Blyth are equipped to pursue post-secondary studies in Canada and internationally. Blyth Academy Qatar is accredited by the province of Alberta, Canada and the State of Qatar. Both accrediting bodies inspect the school annually ensuring BAQ is meeting required standards. BAQ follows the Alberta curriculum which is widely recognized and ranks amongst the top educational systems in the world. Students obtaining an Alberta Secondary School Diploma are accepted to universities and colleges across the world.

Blyth Academy Qatar will continue to occupy the QCS school buildings, but will look to build a state-of-art K-12 school for the next academic year. Existing students will be given priority for places in the new school, including the children of faculty of the College of the North Atlantic Qatar and the University of Calgary in Qatar.
