Qatar was represented in the 17th ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. The meeting was held under the presidency of Turkey through video-conferencing on Thursday.
In his speech, Al Muraikhi congratulated and thanked Turkey for its successful presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Secretary-General of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue to develop the joint work of the dialogue.
Al Muraikhi also welcomed the participation of all member states in the upcoming summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue to be held in Doha this year.
“Qatar attaches great importance to the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, based on its firm belief in the importance, prestige and role of the dialogue in strengthening relations between member states,” the minister said.
“There is no doubt that the exceptional circumstances that the world is going through at all levels highlight the need for international solidarity and collective work to improve all aspects of peoples’ lives and advance them at all political, economic and social levels, especially reducing poverty and granting these peoples the foundations for a decent life,” Al Muraikhi added.
