Recruitment Committee to help private firms seeking visa applications
Private firms seeking visa applications for recruitment of its staff should henceforth approach the Recruitment Committee at the Labour Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, through video conferencing facility over the mobile phone.
The Director of the Labour Department, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Mehri Al-Muhannadi, when speaking about the features and advantages of this facility, mentioned that the procedure would save time and energy for company representatives, as they will not be required to apply and wait for an appoint for personal interaction with the Recruitment Committee However, certain pre-requisites need to be fulfilled by those intending to avail this facility, said Al-Muhannadi.
The Company should make a formal application for availing this facility, specifying the name of the authorized person to discuss the details of recruitment, and the person should possess a 3G mobile phone.
The Labour Department will keep the company official informed through an SMS (Short message service) about the contact phone number, date and time of the video conferencing. This facility is the first-of-its-kind in the GCC, Al-Muhannadi said.
