Job opportunities in Qatar will remain unhindered
The global financial crisis will not be a hindrance for job opportunities for Qatari nationals, said Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, H H Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.
Qatar has chalked out an ambitious and well-laid plan for employment of nationals through participation of all concerned authorities and ministries, revealed Al Attiyah, who spoke to Arab Forum for Development and Employment.
Qatar has experienced crisis previously. When oil prices dropped sharply, the development and employment plans in the country continued unhindered. All major projects currently undertaken by Qatar involves large number of nationals, and this will be so, for several other upcoming major projects in hydrocarbon and petrochemical sectors over the next couple of years.
H E Sultan Al Dosari, the Labour Minister, has reiterated that the current global financial crisis will not affect the employment of foreigners or nationals. The Ministry has found employment for 6500 nationals this year, and half of them are employed in private sectors.
