Arab professionals resent salary cuts to tackle to crisis
Majority of professionals in the Arab and Gulf region (55 percent) are of the opinion that salary cuts are not the way to cope with economic crisis.
This is as per the online poll conducted by Bayt.com, the leading jobsite in the Middle East. However, one-third or more of the respondents in the survey consider pay cuts to be a good idea.
About 59 percent of the professionals are of the opinion that temporary work contracts are the best way out during the global economic crisis.
About 54 percent of the respondents were against the extended work hours and increasing the responsibilities of the existing human resource, while 37 percent approved about these measures.
To stimulate the economy in their country of residence, about 14 percent suggested a change in laws and regulations as the most effective means, while 12 percent suggested productivity increase by private sectors and 11 percent suggested government transparency.
