No positive indications seen in Gulf job market:
Contrary to the recent reports about the positive signs shown by the Gulf job market, more than 60 percent of employees in Kuwait, who participated in an online survey, are of the opinion that the employment market in Gulf is not improving.
The results of a spot poll by Arabian Business showed that 32.7 percent of people feel that job market is still stagnant and jobseekers are struggling to find employment. Another 31.6 percent of respondents feel that the situation is worse now than a year ago.
Careers network ‘Monster Gulf’, in their report this week, claimed that tentative signs of employment recovery are being seen across the region.
The report by the company said that the employers in construction, finance and hospitality sectors are beginning to hire again, while the number of job listings posted on its websites have grown 18 percent in June, compared to that of a month ago.
A total of 11.3 percent of people who participated in the poll agreed that things have been improving in the Gulf employment market, while 24.5 percent agreed that there were more jobs, but they were limited to certain sectors.
Monster Gulf hopes to see the UAE job market continuing to remain stable during the next 8 to 10 months, with positive movement seen in retail, education, healthcare and renewable energy sectors.
