British expatriates drawn towards high pay-scale in Qatar
British expatriates working in Qatar are attracted to the region, particularly Qatar, by the generous pay offered, reveals the survey report by the travel portal QatarVisitor.com.
The Qatar Jobs Survey revealed that money was the single largest motivating factor. About 46.8 percent of expatriates agree that they were mostly influenced by the financial reward, although there are several other factors to be considered by expatriates when choosing a location.
About 28.1 percent said that they were seeking to gain an experience in another culture, while just over 5 percent claimed that it was the adventure of living abroad, that they looked for. Another 9 percent revealed that they had to move, as there were job shortages in their own country.
Before moving into Qatar, British expatriates are advised to review their international health insurance arrangements and take not of the country’s employment law.
At present, all employees require sponsorship from a company before they begin work, which according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is usually offered by the petrochemical industry.
