Qatar employment market back on hiring spree

The Qatar labour market seems to be back on a hiring spree, as more than fifty percent of the employers have announced recruitment plans in the coming months, while 69% of employers plan to increase their company’s headcount within a year, reveals survey reports by Bayt.com and YouGov across the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.


The countries recorded varying tendency to hire in the next three months. The survey was conducted to analyze the perceptions of job availability and hiring, to identify job trends and to offer an understanding of the key skill sets and qualifications required in the Qatar job market.


In the survey the respondents when questioned as to how many positions their organizations aims to fufill in the next three months, it was found that the firms were seeking to recruit staff for less than 10 positions.


The solid number of employers planning to hire staff indicates an improvement on the last wave, when 52 percent said that they planned to hire during the quarter.


In Qatar, however, 26 percent agreed that their Companies will surely be hiring in the next three months, while another 29 percent said that they would probably be hiring. However, 23 percent said they may probably hire, or would definitely not hire in the next quarter.
