Major companies hiring at ongoing Qatar Career Fair 2010

The Qatar Career Fair 2010 was unveiled yesterday at the Doha International Exhibitions Center by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent.

The Event is being held from March 14th to March 18th 2010, under the theme Discover Today, Succeed Tomorrow, and is organized by the Emiri Diwan, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Qatar University, Qatar Petroleum, and the Ministry of Labour.


The job fair aims to offer jobs, training, development and career guidance, besides drawing more Qatari graduates to labour market.


The Director of Qatar Career Fair, Abdullahal Mansoori, revealed that the response to the opening day of the Fair has been great, and about 60,000 visitors are expected during the five-day event.


Several young Qatari graduates thronged various pavilions at the fair, featuring 116 exhibitors comprising both private and public sector companies.


The fair area has been divided into sections, namely, the government village, business and finance village and education, energy and industry village, health and sports village. Each of the section offers information about job opportunities in that particular sector in the country.


Among few of the major Qatari employers aiming to recruit the best talent available in the market during the four-day event are, RasGas, Qtel, QNB and Qatargas.


The HR Executive Director of Qtel Group, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani, even revealed a new offer that the applicants at the Qtel booth will be entered into a daily raffle for a Blackberry Bold 9700 Smartphone.


Meanwhile, Ali Shareef al-Emadi, the QNB Chief Executive Officer said that the bank aims to recruit 150 Qatari graduates as a part of the fair.


Maryam Al Mansoori, HR Manager at Dohaland, one of the participants at this year’s Qatar Career Fair 2010, said that the company’s participation focuses on harnessing the passion among young Qataris and encouraging them to develop their potential, while also relishing the challenges of today’s work environment. Dohaland has participated with the team motto ‘Developing Together’.
