Professionals in Qatar amongst the most highly paid in the region
Qatar tops the region in offering huge salaries, with atleast 10percent of the population earning more than $8,001 each month, according to the latest online survey report by Bayt.com, the leading jobsite, together with YouGov Siraj, the regional research specialists.
In other Gulf regions, 9percent of professionals in Bahrain earn more than $8001 every month, while it is 6percent in Oman, 5percent in Kuwait and 3percent in Saudi Arabia.
As for salary satisfaction across the region, 3percent of respondents in Qatar expressed high satisfaction with salaries, while 60percent expressed medium satisfaction and 37percent were not too satisfied with their salary levels.
The survey aims to analyze the current wage levels and its benefits in the region. It also aims to gauge employee opinion and satisfaction levels about the salaries received, and if it helps in keeping pace with current levels of cost of living.
It was noticed that as in the previous researches by Bayt.com, professionals felt that average salary rise did not reflect on the cost of living in any of the surveyed countries.
Professionals across the region felt that while the cost of living grew by 24.6percent, their salary levels increased only by 7.6percent. In Qatar, particularly, respondents said that while the cost of living grew by 20.6percent, their salaries increased only by 7.4percent.
