New recruitments in GCC nations likely in second half of 2011

The GCC nations are likely to hire new workers during the second half of this year, according latest survey by Naukrigulf.com.

The survey included more than 80 recruiters, with nearly 67% of respondents agreeing that they are expecting new jobs to be included, while 7% are anticipating layoffs, and 2% are of the opinion that there would be no hiring.


The Business Head at Naukrigulf.com, Tarun Aggarwal, mentioned that the region is seeing a positive hiring environment, with several initiatives being undertaken by respective governments.


The growing oil prices have led to creation of new jobs, and increased hiring is expected from oil and gas, construction and engineering, IT and telecom, and retail sectors, particularly in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Aggarwal said.


The year 2011 also saw increase in pay-scales offered by the companies to their employees, with 38percent of respondents announcing 5 to 10percent salary increments, and 20 percent announcing 10 t0 15 percent salary hike. Overall, the hiring showed an optimistic outlook, in comparison to the same survey conducted a year ago, the survey revealed.
