Development of Barwa Commercial Avenue awarded to German firm
Barwa Real Estate, one of the leading real estate developers in Qatar, has awarded the Barwa Commercial Avenue construction contract to Hochtief, a German construction firm. The QR 6.5bn project has been set aside as a mixed-use development with commercial offices, apartments, and exhibition space, and hoped to be complete within next 36 months.
The pre-construction phase of the project such as preparation of the site and outside fences, and other infrastructure works, has been completed. The project, which stretches across 8kms between the Musaimeer roundabout and Industrial Area roundabout, is targeted at businessmen.
Comprising 150,000 square meters of office space and 600 commercial showrooms and shops, the Barwa Commercial Avenue also features about 800 residential units, dedicated to business sector. It has three different types of configurations, including single, double and triple bedroom accommodations.
The project is also inclusive of commercial and managerial complexes, impressive shopping malls, showrooms and shops that include top retail names and brands, apart from specialist shops and fine dining restaurants, that cater to the needs of occupants wherein clients will get an opportunity to mix business with pleasure.
The Barwa Chairman and Managing Director, Al Saad, said “We expect that with this project, the problem of shortage of such facilities will be solved. It is set to become a natural extension of the city of Doha to the South.”
Barwa Commercial Avenue would meet the needs of business sector and create new work horizons. Given its ideal location it is expected to be the center of business, and is believed to meet the needs of local, regional and international entrepreneurs.
