Registrar of Properties in Doha to begin operations next month
The Registrar and monitor of properties purchased by foreigners on an ownership basis within the country will commence operations from early next month.
The office forms a part of Doha Municipality, and would accept applications for registration with the required documents and levy one percent of the value of property as registration fee.
The fee would be refunded if the transaction does not happen. Buyers would be permitted to appoint legal representatives to complete registration formalities, but a legal valid authorization to that effect would be required, which is not older than four months.
The owners are given the right to sub-lease their properties on rent, provided, they pay one percent of annual rent amount as registration fee, with QR100 as additional surcharge.
