QSTP bags award at Cityscape Dubai

Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) is now the winner of Best Commercial/Mixed Use Built Project Award. QSTP won the award at the recent Cityscape Dubai exhibition, the world’s largest real estate investment event, for its desert-inspiring building.

The award was presented to QSTP for the purpose of celebrating architectural excellence. The Cityscape awards play a crucial role in promotion, development and recognition of innovators in emerging markets.

Dr. Tidu Maini, Science and Technology Advisor, Chairman of QSTP has said that this and the previous awards indicate the success and ingenuity of Woods Bagot. They have managed to create a futuristic design in harmony with Qatari culture.

QSTP offers world-class environment for technology development in complementing areas of research.

According to Alf Seeling, the Design Director for Woods Bagot – Middle East, with this development, Qatar has set a new global benchmark for science parks with a unique identity.

The architectural firm was earlier awarded the Leading European Architects Forum Award for the Best Overall Building and the Best Commercial Building for the QSTP structure. The building also received the Completed Project of the Year Award during last year’s inaugural Middle East Architect Awards.
