Major demand for retail space at Barwa Sayer development
The Barwa Commercial Avenue is making good progress with its development phases well underway. Majority of the available retail space in the first of five district zones (Sayer) to be launched soon has been leased out already during the last quarter of 2011.
Located at Ain Khaled district along Muntazah Road in Doha, the Barwa Commercial Avenue will be the new commercial, residential and lifestyle destination, which links Doha metropolitan to Doha Industrial Area.
The development, spanning 8kms has helped in bringing about major transformation in the area, making it a mix of contemporary commercial complexes, showrooms and high quality apartments.
Sayer is the first phase of Barwa Commercial Avenue, to be completed. It spans an area of 265,000 sqm, and is an ideal business location with its well-planned retail-mix of automotive, trading, building materials, F&B and community essentials.
Located in proximity to the Industrial Area, Sayer is easily accessible to the superior highway system and Doha Metro rail transit system, and will mark the opening of high-quality trade and service hub in Qatar. The Chairman of Barwa Commercial Avenue, Saad Dehaim Al Dosari, said that within short span of time, Sayer has been able to secure leasing deeds from major local, regional and international businesses. In fact, "Dragon Mart" with offerings from China, will be the first one in Qatar.
Negotiations are further underway at present for remaining retail space at Sayar, he said.
