Stenden University

Stenden University Qatar was established in 2000 as a joint venture between Al Rayyan Education and Stenden University of Applied Sciences. Since then thousands of students from more than 40 different nationalities have graduated from Stenden University in Qatar. Many of their graduates hold key positions in different governmental and nongovernmental organizations in Qatar and internationally.

Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences offers a four-year Bachelor programme in Business Administration with majors in Tourism Management, International Hospitality Management and International Business and Management Studies. Stenden University Qatar also offers Master’s degrees in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. NHL Stenden University has campuses in the Netherlands, in Doha (Qatar), in Bali (Indonesia), in Bangkok (Thailand) and in Port Alfred (South Africa).

The programmes they offer in Qatar are the same as those delivered in the Netherlands apart from some adaptations for practical and cultural reasons. The NVAO (Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization) has accredited the equivalent programmes in the Netherlands and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar recognizes the European degrees delivered at Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences.

To complete the academic requirements of your Dutch Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, you have the opportunity to study a year in the Netherlands. In practice, this means that you will spend either part of your second and third or the entire third year at one of their campus locations in the Netherlands.

They provide the students with the privilege of receiving high-quality European education and Dutch accredited diplomas. The students are encouraged to stay culturally connected by providing them with fantastic opportunities to study in one of their campuses in the Netherlands, South Africa, Bali, and Thailand. They provide the students with the opportunity to train and find employment in some of the best business enterprises, tourism organizations and hospitality companies in Qatar and abroad.

Presently there are almost 500 students on campus studying in three Bachelor programmes. In addition, the University conducts an Academic Bridging Program, and offers a number of elective courses. It signed an agreement with the Qatar Tourism Authority recently to educate and conduct licensing examinations for tourism guides in the State of Qatar.
