Qatari artist Mohammed Al Atiq exhibition comes with a philosophy that is alarming the whole world against the imminent danger of waste, which Mohammed Al Atiq observed daily during his residency in New York in 2020. The artist's filtering eye senses beauty and inspires shapes.
Mohammed al-Atiq’s artistic traits are painting and collage on fabric with different sizes and dimensions. He uses different techniques. The artist uses abandoned ores such as locks, hair clips, nails, threads, fabric, used matchsticks, papers etc. He tries hard to use what he called “the little” to change its concept from its concrete status to the visual concept which would embed intellectual connotations.
Inspired by Indian philosopher Osho, the artist challenges himself to extract beauty from the waste to raise awareness of this issue.
Mohammed Al Atiq was in residence at the International Studio & Curatorial Program in Brooklyn, NY.
