Azm sculpture unveiled at Qatar Foundation

HE Advisor of Cultural Affairs at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al-Thani created an artwork under the title 'Azm' (determination), on the occasion of the celebration of the silver jubilee of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of QF.

The artwork consists of three sculptural pieces of three women, wearing the traditional abaya and battoulah - reflecting traditional women's clothing in the Qatari culture.

Sheikh Hassan said that artwork 'Azm' symbolizes the homeland, and expresses the connotation of the artistic content of the artwork, explaining that the sculpture was created from granite located in Aswan in southern Egypt, which the pharaohs had anciently used to make their pieces and sculptures.

He concluded his statements by noting that this artwork was chosen by QF, as the work symbolizes the foundation's logo (three branches of the Sidra tree), indicating that the creating this piece of art took him about two and a half years.

It is noteworthy that Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development was established in 1995 as a non-profit organization.
