Qatar National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme is progressing rapidly with 57.3 percent of the eligible population receiving at least one dose of the vaccine So far.

As of today, 57.3% of those eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Qatar received at least one dose of vaccine.
Qatar currently provides Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. 90.4% of the elderly over the age of 60 - who are considered among the groups most vulnerable to severe complications due to infection with the (Covid-19) virus - received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 84.7% of them received both doses of the vaccine.
The Ministry of Public Health, in a statement on Saturday, said as many as 28,287 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in the past 24 hours, taking the total vaccine doses given so far to 2,261,903.
The vaccination rollout has sped up over the past days with over 40,000 vaccines being administered per day. According to data released by the Ministry yesterday, as many as 40,058 vaccine doses were administered in the past 24 hours.
At present, all people aged 30 and above are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Parents can also register their children aged 12 to 15 years to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
The Ministry in its daily COVID-19 report said, “In recent weeks the combined impact of COVID-19 restrictions and increasing vaccination rates, and the overwhelming support of the community, has resulted in a consistent reduction in the number of new daily infections in the country.
“However, it is still important to be cautious as the second wave is not yet over and there are still two highly contagious and highly virulent strains of the virus that are actively circulating in the community.”
