Qatar participated in the opening of the Arab Productive Families Exhibition (house of Arabs) that commenced on Thursday in Qubba Palace in Cairo, Egypt, and will continue for a week with the participation of 150 exhibitors.
The State of Qatar was represented by Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad during the opening of the exhibition.
The exhibition constitutes an opportunity to display the works of Arab productive families and learn about the rich cultures of Arab countries in the field of handicrafts and protect a lot of these crafts from obsolescence.
In exclusive remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Qabbaj valued the State of Qatar’s participation in the opening of the exhibition, which comes within the framework of Qatar’s keenness to strengthen the relations between the member states of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs.
Her Excellency praised the Arab participation in the exhibition’s activities, pointing out that 12 Arab countries are participating in the exhibition, as well as nine Arab ministers attended the opening ceremony. Her Excellency noted that the Kingdom of Jordan was the guest of honour at the exhibition as the head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs.
Her Excellency indicated that the significance of the exhibition lies in the cultural and commercial exchange and strengthening of the relations between Arab productive families, which will lead to strengthening Arab heritage and economic empowerment of families as the exhibition is supportive of productive families with family-friendly projects.
