The pavilion of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) TASMU (SMART Qatar) has entered the Guinness World Records Book, by recording the longest independent concrete structure built using 3D printing technology.

The ministry's pavilion was built on an area of 170 sqm with a height of 12.4 meters and was designed in the form of a tower consisting of ten levels with seven bricks in each row. It was built from 75 individual pieces printed with 3D technology, to be an ideal example of fruitful cooperation between different talents and experiences, and a living example of transforming ambitious visions into tangible reality.

Inspired by the beauty of the desert and sustainable technology, the pavilion reflects a unique blend of innovative and traditional elements, where advanced technology converges with the essence of Qatari culture.

On this occasion, Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai stated that the Guinness World Record is not only a symbol of innovation and achievement, but also a testimony to Qatar's commitment to transcending all boundaries in the field of technology, promoting fruitful cooperation, and providing innovations that improve peoples lives, as MCIT pavilion is tangible evidence of the technological progress witnessed by Qatar, where traditional values are in harmony with advanced technology to meet global challenges, noting that this serves as an of inspiration for all humanity.

Earlier, Minister Al Mannai inaugurated the ministry's pavilion, accompanied by a number of Their Excellencies and senior state officials.

The ministry's participation in the International Horticultural Exhibition is through its programmes such as 'Smart Qatar ' and 'Studio 5', in addition to holding the third edition of the Smart City Expo 2023 in November.

Within an area of 170sqm, the pavilion offers its visitors an in-depth self-exploration experience that tells the story of smart Qatar and invites them to explore Arab culture in its richest ways.

The pavilion was designed in the form of a tower consisting of ten levels and was built from 75 individual pieces printed with 3D technology to be an ideal example of fruitful cooperation between different talents and experiences and a living example of turning ambitious visions into tangible reality.

The pavilion also provides periodic events, ensuring renewed interactive activities throughout the exhibition period.

Out of concern for the younger generation, the ministry's participation extends to include 'Studio 5', which was established with the aim of educating students, children, and youth, about the digital field, as well as enhancing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creativity and innovation.

Free workshops, seminars, and hackathons will also be available daily at the Innovation Center within the International District throughout the six months of the exhibition.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is also preparing to present the third edition of the Smart City Expo 2023 in Doha, scheduled to be held on November 29 and 30, in cooperation with Fira Barcelona, the organizer of the Smart Cities Exhibition World Conference.

The Smart City Expo in Doha will continue to promote international discussions on urban development and focus on finding solutions to today's challenges. Topics covered also include green urban environments, digital governance, and knowledge cities, providing a platform for sharing projects, policies, initiatives, and interest in exploiting opportunities and overcoming challenges facing cities in the digital age.
